Who we are
NCERT Maths is an educational app for students in Classes 1–12, built by Bellephant Inc (New Delhi, India). The app provides interactive lessons, practice questions, and animations aligned with the NCERT mathematics curriculum.
Who this app is for
NCERT Maths is designed for students aged 5–18 years. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
What information we collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to provide a personalised learning experience:
- Google account info (when you sign in): your display name, email address, and profile photo. Sign-in is optional — the app works fully without it.
- Learning progress: stars earned, lessons completed, quiz scores, streak days, and chapters visited. Stored to save your progress across sessions.
- Anonymous analytics: Firebase Analytics may collect non-identifiable usage data (page views, session duration, crash reports) to help us improve the app.
We do not collect: payment information, location data, contacts, camera or microphone access, or any sensitive personal data.
How we use your information
- To save and restore your learning progress across devices.
- To show a weekly leaderboard (only your display name and star count are visible to other users).
- To provide daily login bonuses and streak rewards.
- To improve app quality using anonymous analytics.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — our backend for authentication, database, and hosting. COPPA-compliant.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or a valid court order.
No advertising networks, analytics brokers, or data resellers have access to your data.
No advertisements
NCERT Maths contains no advertisements of any kind. We do not use ad networks and do not allow behavioural tracking for advertising purposes.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Firestore security rules prevent any user from accessing another user's private data.
Parental rights (COPPA)
Parents and guardians of children under 13 may:
- Review the personal information we hold about their child.
- Request deletion of their child's account and all associated data.
- Refuse further collection or use of their child's information.
- Use the app in guest mode (no sign-in) so no personal data is collected at all.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 10 business days.
Your rights
- Access: sign in and view your profile at any time.
- Deletion: contact us to erase all stored data within 30 days.
- Guest mode: use the app without signing in — progress is saved locally on your device only.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
